Our Leadership Team

• David heads up the rpc leadership team. He acquired the Resource Planning Consultants recruitment business and formed The rpc Group of Companies in May 2000. Prior to this David had a varied career in Engineering, Brewing, HR and Training and Logistics and Supply Chain. He has over 20 years’ experience in Logistics and Supply Chain including working in the express parcels and foodservice sectors. 

Some of his notable achievements are:

• Managed individual and multi-site businesses encompassing full P & L responsibility, up to £115m sales turnover across 5 sites
• Successful implementation of a Total Quality Management programme and its on – going development
• Project managed the creation of a £3million Distribution Centre within time and budgetary constraints
• Project managed the creation of a Supply Chain department from conception through to board presentation and finally to appointment of Supply Chain Manager
• Extensive knowledge of secondary distribution and warehousing operations. This includes writing operations manuals and auditing of depot operations
• Successfully integrated two acquisitions (£80m and £20m into parent business). This involved managing cultural differences, restructuring and depot closures
• Heavily involved in Vision 2000. A restructure and change management programme assessing various depot infrastructure options for the future and merging two sales forces into one  

Although the Managing Director of The rpc Group of Companies, David also acts as the Principal Consultant and has placed a considerable number of candidates into a variety of roles . These have included Logistics Directors, VP’s and at COO level, within the UK and Internationally. His core speciality is foodservice and food logistics recruitment.

He has expanded the business internationally taking the business into new business sectors – FM, Catering and Life Support, IT and Telecoms, Military and Defence, Aviation, Security, Retail and Wholesale, Cruise Lines, Fuel Supply and Distribution, Mining, Engineering and Construction including Oil and Gas.

David is a Chartered Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Personnel and  Development (FCIPD), a Fellow of The Institute of Recruitment Professionals (FIRP),  a Member of The British Institute of Recruiters (mBIoR), a Member of The Association of Professional Recruitment Consultants (UK) (MPRC) and a Member of The Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (MCILT)

He is a former JP /Magistrate having served on Southampton Magistrates’ Court Bench for 10 years. He has also served as an External Panel Member for Southampton Solent University validating degree courses. David is married and supports a number of national and local charities.
