The origin of The rpc Group of Companies goes back to 1985 when a distribution and warehousing recruitment business was established by John Bates naming it Resource Planning Consultants.
Our current Chairman and Managing Director, David Beck acquired the Resource Planning Consultants business on 24 May 2000 and so The rpc Group of Companies was born.
David expanded the business into logistics and supply chain sector beyond distribution and warehousing roles and the business started handling Sales, HR, Loss Prevention Management roles etc. As a result, the brand rpc search and selection was used as it gave a clearer definition of what the business did.
In the latter part of 2004, the Company started handling overseas based roles and the trading name of rpc international recruitment was adopted and at the same time the divisions of rpc foodservice recruitment and rpc interim recruitment were formally created.
In November 2014, rpc commercial recruitment was launched as a new division.
In November 2015, when we started working with Carnival Group supplying them with Chefs for their Cunard and P & O cruise ships, rpc catering & hospitality recruitment was formally created as a separate division albeit that we had been undertaking catering and hospitality recruitment overseas since 2004.
In February 2019 recognising that rpc search and selection was handling an increasing number of roles other than logistics and supply chain roles, it was decided to change the name of the division to rpc technical recruitment, and creating two sub – brands that of rpc logistics & supply chain recruitment and rpc IT & telecoms recruitment.
Together they all trade under the umbrella name of “The rpc Group of Companies” and legally form part of the legal entity – rpc International recruitment Ltd.
